Sketch Book Records Presents…

lil DIY indie/emo/punk show for you…

First up, headliners Tummyache who are simply incredible…Rooted in DIY, community and mutual care and respect they are a super intense, raw and emotional live experience. Their music draws on indie, art rock, post-hardcore and emo and lands somewhere between Unwound, Radiohead, Slint and Big Thief. I saw them back in the summer at an all dayer at Shredenhamz in Bristol and fell hook line and sinker. So much so that I almost missed the last train home. Genuinely over the moon to have them play for us here in Trowbridge.

This is a band where the music is only the beginning. In a world that’s burning up and tearing itself apart all we really have is each other. To (mis)quote the Hotelier, it’s family, friends, community and DIY bands…At the show we’ll have zines and literature from local organisations in amongst the usual tees and records…Together we can help each other and we can live in the moment and we can make the moment special…and maybe even turn off our phones?

Chasing Dolls you should already know…the romantic face of art-rock infused emo revival, they take the mathy, twinkly guitars of Algernon and Snowing and combine it with the poetry of Blue Aeroplanes and the thrill and urgency of new wave, indie and punk…I love this band SO much…and live they are something else…

And opening things up London’s Hiding From Mirrors…super young tweemo/skramz/shoegaze kids with a trumpet…think Everyone Asked About You or The Lazarus Plot by way of Indian Summer and Vs Self…with a trumpet…They played the London date of Steatopygous’ summer tour and I asked them to come to Trowbridge there and then…yr gonna frickin’ love em…x

Tix always cheaper in advance, even cheaper for unwaged and NOTAFLOF.
