Sketchbook Records Present…
A blistering mix of punk, emo and hardcore, leaning heavily into 90s emo-core and Dischord-punk, London’s Tethered make a righteous noise that wouldn’t be out of place on Ebulliton. Their demo tape was fucking incredible and I cannot wait to hear the new material they’ve been working on.
Bath based band Kill Mirror Image have more of that old school emo sound mixed with scratchy 80s post-punk. It’s taut and it’s angular and it’s shouty and it’s scream-y. We’re talking Josef K jamming with Funeral Diner and that sounds amazing, right?
And make sure you get down early to catch south-west emos Chasing Dolls. If you’ve seen them before you’ll know how incredible these guys are live – genuinely one of the best things I’ve seen recently…if you were at Amplify in Bath you’ll know. This is twinkly emo-revival at it’s absolute best – we’re talking Algernon, Marietta, Cap’n Jazz, Snowing – all the good shit basically…
No more patience, no more peace…
