The belief that it was always wanted, but required someone dedicated to drive the night, has weighed heavy on the new committees mind as the success of the venue began to take shape.
The mantra that “the more people that are involved the more likely it is to succeed” still rings true. The Pump now has a vibrant array of door staff, sound engineers, lighting engineers, poster designers, photographers and a whole wealth of musicians on our stage.
But there was still one thing missing, the traditional Friday night floor space club show.
During these past 5 years we’ve met so many incredible people and brought so many of them with us so it with pure delight that Matt Cook has chosen to take up the mantel, and stand up to be counted. He’s put his money where his mouth is and he’s kick started the brand new, Friday Acoustic Club.
Run in a traditional way, where musicians need to register their intent to perform in advance or walk up and chance their luck, with a guest headliner at the top.
The first show will be headlined by narrowboat sensations FLY YETI FLY. Video below.
