Sketch Book Records Presents…

Not one but TWO nationwide tours hitting the Pump in one night!! As Brighton emo-punx Superfriends‘ joint tour with Leeds bedroom pop turned shoegazey post rock kids Fern Veh crosses paths with that of Notts based emos Pillow Fort with Frome based introvert pop collective Broccoli Boy along for the night…

Superfriends have never been shy about wearing their feelings on their sleeves. Their big and bright punk songs, sounding somewhere between Jeff Rosenstock and The Mountain Goats, will hit you like a joyous shot in the arm! They tackle such themes as friendship, identity, and just having a really great time with your pals.

New record, King Of The Moths, is the sound of a band metamorphosing into something older, tougher, weirder. A decidedly darker set of songs than the band’s previous work, the album tells stories of endings, new beginnings, and finally growing up in your 30s. Along the way you’ll find office dreamers, villainous landlords, ancient creatures, and a hell of a lot of moths.

Fern Veh began as something private, then widened as the songs demanded more air. Now operating as a loose collective around Ada Gilfoyle, the project blends dream pop, shoegaze, post-rock and power-pop, holding a steady mood as arrangements shift shape. A quieter corner of the bill, if you fancy standing still for a bit and letting melody do the heavy lifting.

Pillow Fort are a three-piece alt-emo band from Nottingham, UK, drawing inspiration from modern emo and pop punk bands such as Hot Mulligan, Arm’s Length and Origami Angel, while also blending in shades of math rock and punk. Following the release of their debut EP’ Words That Change in Meaning’ in 2022 and its companion release ‘And Words That Stay the Same’ the following year, Pillow Fort have become an established name within the UK DIY emo scene. They played my night at Trowbridge Festival last year and it was SO much fun…and with their debut LP on the way (trust me, it’s awesome!!) I’m super excited to see them again…

And kicking things off, Broccoli Boy are the four piece introvert pop/rock collective from Frome, Somerset you always wanted in your life…
